Bright White Lightning - Bad Teeth
I really like when the only feeling I get from listening to an EP is fun. There’s just something about that enjoyable romp from beginning to finish that feels like time well spent. Bright White Lightning is a trio of dudes from Seattle playing guitars, drums, synths and a Game Boy with a bio that goes: “Scott is the best drummer in the band, Joey is the best guitarist in the band, Alex is the best drinker in the band.”
Their take on the matter leans towards the indie-rock side of things, complete with an excellent set of vocals.
Definitely check out: the promo video for the Bad Teeth EP
p.s. Anyone else think the beginning of “Amigo” sounds a lot like the beginning of The xx’s “Intro”?
Yo Dannel dis rill good.

DEHUMANIZE YOURSELF AND FACE TO BLOODSHED
A rap beat I made tonight for fun. Samples “They Say It’s Wonderful” by Dionne Warwick and the vocal is “Catacomb Kids” by Aesop Rock. You can download this thing on Soundcloud.

hello. i'm wondering what type of setup you'd recommend for someone who wants to start making music via midi controller and audio program interface. a program that has a large enough sandbox to play in, and a minimalist controller that can have many different uses is essentially what i'm looking for. thanks in advance.
It’s hard to recommend a program, since everyone has a different workflow that works best for them. Ableton Live is the popular choice, but download demos for a bunch of different programs and see what works for you.
As for a controller, take a look at the Akai MPK 49. It’s got a keyboard, pads, and a mixer controls, so it’s fairly versatile. There are other controllers that have a similar form factor, but Akai generally makes good stuff.
I know I’m basically a million years late to the party on this, but this song is really good. I keep thinking it would be cool to do a remix, but then I remember the song is kinda old and a bunch of people have probably remixed it already, so I might look like a scrub. No one wants to look like a scrub.
Kool A.D. of Das Racist fame has a new mixtape out. It’s free and has a lot of really good raps.

I meet Lil B, he was playing a festival all by himself and he said "Sorry to all the girls here, i ain´t talking about you when i say Bitch, respect girls" Then he shouted Real hip hop for 3 minutes
Damn. That is rad. Kind of like how the video for “Bout Dat Wo” includes “VIOLENT MUSIC LIL B IS NOT PROUD OF MESSAGE” in the title.
Derek Googles Nicki Minaj’s ass, Calvin learns about anime friendship through the power of anime jazz, and Seth makes all the females scream.
